CANTERBURY TEAMS WIN STATE FINALS in
Launceston
Canterbury A Reserve Women headed to
Launceston on a small bus on Josie Crowden’s 18th birthday without
Captain Emma Seddon and welcoming back Alison Parodi to the
goalkeeping role.
With the bare
11 we took on Burnie Baptist for the
State title.
We wasted no
time in posting a goal when Carrie Blanton touched in a Julia Baxter
shot from the top of the circle. A second goal followed soon after
with a short corner variation from Ione Patten to Sarah McRobbie on
the post. Not to be out done Lucy Clark ended a superb season with a
low back stick goal from the top of the circle. 3 Nil, 3 Nil
we sang on the bus back to Hobart!!

game
Canterbury
3rd Grade Men (propped up by a number of 4th graders) but only with
the bare 11 players took on South Launceston for the state
final. Despite having most of the possession they were unable
to convert into goals until late in the first half and took a 1-0
lead into half time. The second half followed the pattern of
the first with the second goal of the game coming 20 mins into the
second half with a good goal to Tristan Birch. With South
Launie having 5 subs the Canterbury team started to tire in the
spring heat but held on for well deserved 2-0 win.

WOMENS MASTERS
INVITATIONAL
Australia and New Zealand were represented
across 5 age groups, ranging from over 35's to over 55's, with
England sending a team to compete in the o/40's age group.
Tasmania was well represented with 5 players selected to
compete for their country and 3 of those were Canterbury club
members. Lynne Trustum represented the o/55's, Peri Buckley
(Co-Captain) represented the o/50's and Sarah Booker (Co-Captain)
represented the o/35's. Each age group played 4 games over a 6
day period.
The tournament concluded with Australia making a
clean sweep of all their last round games on Day 6 to make up for
some disappointing losses earlier in the week. The o/35's took away
the title with a thrilling finish ending in a shoot out. At the
conclusion of the 4 test series Australia were overall winners in
the o/35's and o/45's divisions and New Zealand in the o/40's,
o/50's and o/55's divisions. Australia o/40's had a 2 - 1 win
against England in the Nottingham Ashes Cup.
A big congratulations to our 3 Australian
representatives in Lynne, Peri and Sarah for doing Canterbury
proud.

Parking restrictions at THCCars parked in any of the 12 reserved spots inside the ticket booth gate at any time must be displaying a THC parking permit for 2010. Cars parked in this area without a permit will have a sticker placed on their windscreen, number plates will be recorded and repeat offenders will be followed up. Stickers will also be placed on the windscreens of any cars parked in the yellow exclusion zones or of cars parked inappropriately and/or impeding access for others. This is very important as emergency vehicles such as ambulances need a clear right of way. Once again number plates will be recorded and repeat offenders will be followed up. On A - pool game days or when there is a gatekeeper present, the area inside the ticket booth gate will again be for parking permit holders only. Please do not try to park in this area without a pass as the gatekeepers have been instructed not to allow you entry. | Canterbury Vision and Mission StatementsOur new vision statement sets a goal or an ideal that the club would like to achieve. The goal identified in a vision statement should be ambitious and therefore only achieveable with a lot of hard work. A mission statement identifies those things that help us achieve the vision.
