2010 Junior hockey season
The Junior Registration Day has now been held (see details below). So, for all the juniors interested in playing...
WHAT’S NEXT?
The junior season will be commencing on Saturday the 17th April this year. Training will commence on Tuesday 6th April.
The junior training times for 2010 are;
Tuesday THC2 1700 U16 Girls
Wednesday THC3 1815 U13 & U15 Boys and U14 Girls
Thursday THC3 1615 U11 boys and U12 Girls
Thursday THC1 1700 U18 Girls and U18 Boys
ROSTERS
Rosters will be given out to all players by their coaches/managers at the training sessions prior to the commencement of the season but the following table will give you an idea of when games are normally scheduled to be played.

Boys U13 Friday night Girls U14 Sunday
Boys U15 Friday night Girls U16 Friday Night
Boys U18 Sunday afternoon/Monday night Girls U18 Sunday afternoon/Monday night

Junior Grand-final will be the weekend of the 28 – 29th August. Please try to ensure that you are available should your team make it into a grand-final.
Junior presentation Night will be held on Wednesday 1st September 2010 6pm - 8.30pm in the Olympians Room THC.
Canterbury is selling 2010/2011 Entertainment Books @ $55 to support Tasmanian players in the Australian Hockey League. Canterbury has 6 representatives. Jane Patten will be collecting expressions of interest.
The AHL players will be conducting junior clinics over the Easter holidays. Blair Patten will be collecting the names of juniors interested in participating. |

2010 Junior registration day
Canterbury Hockey Club will be holding its registration day for all players interested in playing hockey at club level for the 2010 season on:
● Sunday, 28 February 2010
● Tasmania Hockey Centre, Bell St, New Town
● Times are yet to be confirmed
Registration will commence at 9.00 oclock after which there will be a hockey skills clinic for Under 11, 13, 15 and Under 18 boys and Under 12, 14, 16 and Under 18 girls on turf from 9.30am until 11.00am. Please bring along your hockey gear (stick, shin guards, mouth guards and turf shoes/runners).
After the clinic there will be a snack and drinks for players. Come and meet your coach for the 2010 season, learn some new skills and if you have any friends that are interested in playing club hockey for Canterbury please bring them along its free!
All parents are most welcome. Come along and meet the coach, talk to club officials, have something to eat and watch your child on the turf.
For those of you that have been involved with junior hockey in the past you may have noticed that the age groupings for boys have changed. For the 2010 season the age grouping for boys will be Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 18. So it will be quite acceptable for boys that are aged 8, 9 or 10 years old to be playing in the Under 11 age grouping. If you have a son of this age who is interested in playing hockey please bring him along and encourage him to bring a friend as well! Girls age groupings will remain the same in the 2009 season as in previous seasons: Under 12, Under 14, Under 16 and Under 18.

The subscription deposit required for each child is $50. This amount will be deducted from your subscription for the 2010 season. For any new players who do not continue to play with Canterbury this amount is refundable. Please bring this deposit to the registration day or if you are unable to attend then forward to the above address with your registration form. Please contact Grazia for direct debit details.
Limited stock of playing uniform will be available for immediate purchase on registration day and all Canterbury clothing can be ordered on the day. You can contact Rosemary Lawler before Registration Day to put in an order. Rosemarys contact details are;
