Important notifications from THC management

If players are intending to make casual use of the turf during business hours the THC staff MUST be notified.  Players wanting to use the turf need to report to the Competitions or Centre Manager’s office PRIOR to grounds being entered. There is a nominal fee of $2 per person per session.
Food and drinks must NOT be taken on to the playing surface, especially chewing gum. The foil rip-top seal of sports drinks and chewing gum regularly appear on the surfaces.  Please keep the ground free of rubbish.
There are blue bins for rubbish at each dug out and near entry gates – please ensure they are used.
Those players who use grass areas to warm up should note that there is a new area for washing boots at the entrance to the tunnel on the south side.
Your assistance in helping us to keep the surfaces in pristine condition and clean at all times will prevent additional charges being laid to all users and the cost of casual turf to remain at the low rate of $2.

2010 parking restrictions at THC

Cars parked in any of the 12 reserved spots inside the ticket booth gate at any time must be displaying a THC parking permit for 2010. Cars parked in this area without a permit will have a sticker placed on their windscreen, number plates will be recorded and repeat offenders will be followed up.
Stickers will also be placed on the windscreens of any cars parked in the yellow exclusion zones or of cars parked inappropriately and/or impeding access for others.
This is very important as emergency vehicles such as ambulances need a clear right of way. Once again number plates will be recorded and repeat offenders will be followed up.
On A - pool game days or when there is a gatekeeper present, the area inside the ticket booth gate will again be for parking permit holders only. Please do not try to park in this area without a pass as the gatekeepers have been instructed not to allow you entry.

ZERO tolerance for umpire and player abuse

There has been an increasing incidence of disrespectful behaviour and offensive language from players towards both umpires and fellow players.  The Canterbury Committee shares the Hockey Tasmania Boards concern regarding this unacceptable behaviour.  As a result all players are asked to get a ground swell of support going for restoring a culture of respect for their fellow members of the hockey community.
There are penalties for offensive language ranging from green and yellow cards to reporting to the Tribunal. Umpires are asked to impose these penalties.
I
t would be encouraging though to see the Canterbury players self-discipline without the need to resort to penalty or punishment.  Players should also name up inappropriate behaviour on the field in an effort to stamp it out.

Our new vision statement sets a goal or an ideal that the club would like to achieve.  The goal identified in a vision statement should be ambitious and therefore only achieveable with a lot of hard work.  A mission statement identifies those things that help us achieve the vision.  The vision and mission statement created by the Canterbury committee can be viewed by clicking here.
